A FAMILY has been left disappointed after discovering Trentham Garden's big 'Potters Wheel' had been taken down before they could use their VIP tickets.

Chris and Susan Hall, of Trentham, won a ride for four people in the 200ft wheel's VIP pod in a raffle in May.

The couple planned to take two of their four children, aged between four and 17, on the wheel as a school holiday treat.

But they were shocked to read in The Sentinel this week the ride was being dismantled five months earlier than planned due to a lack of demand.

Chris, aged 37, said: "There was very short notice about the wheel being taken down and our children are very disappointed because we had promised them a trip as a treat.

"Lots of people were planning to go there during the six-week holidays. This isn't fair on anyone and we feel short-changed."
