VIDEO: Stoke-on-Trent pupil sees designed Diamond Jubilee mug at Moorcroft Pottery, Burslem
A pupil from Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy who designed a winning cup and saucer 'fit for royalty' has been presented with the finished product.
Angelika Wimalasooriya, aged 13, along with classmates from the Blurton school, paid a visit to Moorcroft Pottery, on Sandbach Road, Burslem on Thursday, where the tea set was made.
Children entered the national competition to design a cup and saucer which would be manufactured and given as a gift to the Queen, to mark her Diamond Jubilee year and 60 years as monarch.
