Upgrade your home secrurity this spring
WITH spring now in full bloom, many people turn their thoughts to tackling a spot of DIY, either in the garden or decorating.
One area which is often overlooked is home security, and a new threat has recently emerged which can see thieves break door locks in seconds.
But according to Stoke lock expert Paul Burke, an investment of little more than £10 could see homeowners make their homes a much harder target for the would-be burglars.
Paul, who is owner of The Door Centre Stoke at the Railway Enterprise Centre, in Stoke-on-Trent, believes spending a little money on new locks for your doors drastically reduces the ease with which a burglar can force their way into your home.

And he said it was estimated that there were more than 40 million UPVC doors fitted in properties across the UK, the majority of which have been fitted with locks burglars can literally snap to gain entry.
"A burglar with the right piece of equipment can snap a lock and be in your home within 15 seconds," he said.
"If you spend a little money upgrading your locks you reduce the chances of a burglar being able to get in.
"We are selling 'anti snap, anti bump' kitemarked Euro cylinder locks which are much better for security.
"For as little as £12 for the cheapest and perhaps £40 for the most expensive, you can really make a difference to your property."
You can buy anti snap, anti bump locks directly from The Door Centre Stoke and the company offers a fitting service for locks with a standard charge of £39.99.
