FIREFIGHTERS are expected to spend most of the night at the scene of a barn fire.

Crews from Nantwich and Sandbach fire stations, plus another two teams from Crewe were called to the blaze at a farm on Broad Lane, Nantwich, at 9.41am today.

The fire was in a barn containing 30 tonnes of hay and also involved some large, derelict sheds.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We have let the fire burn but kept jets on it to stop it spreading.

"Crews will be there the best part of the night."

The farmer also helped to tackle the fire.
