Prikka strips should be banned
The other day I noticed spikes on the top of a fence around someone's garden.
I thought how cruel it is to birds and animals, especially cats, that happen to land on top.
Then I read that the police are giving these "weapons" away free to Biddulph residents to stop intruders (The Sentinel, March 16).
I also read that some people are using them just to keep birds and cats away.
What sort of people are these who want to hurt their fellow creatures in an inhumane way?
And what about vets' bills imposed on people who can't afford them.
There must surely be a better way to keep out burglars.
How about more police on the streets for a start?
The RSPCA should get these Prikka strips banned.
