THE Douglas Macmillan Hospice would like to thank everyone for their support, including:

Kingsbridge Medical Centre, Clayton, for a £10 donation;

Harvest Housing Group, Manchester, for a £50 donation;

Thorley Senior Citizens' Club, Meir, for a £100 donation;

Pittshill Bowling Club for £200 proceeds from a raffle;

Stourbridge Methodist Church for £30;

Npower, Worcester, for a £155 donation;

DHL Supply Chain, Sainsburys, Sideway, for £202.51 proceeds from a raffle;

Bradwell Methodist Church for a £62.50 donation;

St Modwen's North Staffs office for £50 donated from a talk given to Burslem Rotary Club;

Stoke City FC for £1,376.41 raised during a collection at the home game against Arsenal. Thanks also to the supporters who donated and to all the volunteers from the YMCA, Acacia Training and the hospice who gave up their time to collect.

Volunteers are needed by the hospice to support its work.

Douglas Macmillan Hospice shops need donations of goods to sell, as well as volunteers to sign up and help out.

Clothes, shoes, bric-a-brac, jewellery and books can be dropped off at any of the charity's shops across North Staffordshire and South Cheshire.

Shops are open Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am until 4.30pm, in Alsager, Biddulph, Cheadle, Chesterton, Kidsgrove, Leek, Longton, Meir, Newcastle, Silverdale, Stoke and Tunstall.

Its shop at Hanford is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am until 7pm and on Sundays from 11am until 4pm.

Donations can be dropped off on Sundays from 9am to 5pm.

DMH LOTTERY

It costs £1 a week to be a playing member, with the chance to become one of the 279 winners each week who share a prize fund of £4,500. For details, call 01782 344321.

FUTURE EVENTS

Saturday, March 20: Stone Lions Big Band Night at St Dominic's Priory School, Stone, at 7.30pm. Tickets £7 each. For details, call Chris Handley on 01785 812027.

Sunday, April 11: Dougie Mac 5k Run/ Walk at the Wedgwood Estate, Barlaston, at 9.45am. Entry fee is £10 prior to the event and includes a DMH T-shirt.

Saturday, April 17: Gala Charity Concert with Denise Leigh and Philip Cartwright, also featuring Newcastle Male Voice Choir at St George's Church, Newcastle, at 7.30pm. Tickets £7 each. For details, call 01782 660613.

Friday, April 30: Annual DMH Charity Golf Day at Newcastle Golf Club. Team entry fee £200 for a four ball team. Tee times available from 8am until 3.15pm.
