AN ACTION group fighting to stop Severn Trent Water building three wind turbines is to hold a public meeting.

The water company wants to put up the turbines at Aston Hall Farm near Stone but residents are worried about the noise, the visual impact and the effect on property prices and wildlife at Burston and Aston.

Members of STOPstw (Stone and Trent Valley Oppose Severn Trent Water) will brief residents in Aston Village Hall on Wednesday, November 4, at 7.30pm on the campaign's progress since the committee was elected in July.

Chairman Paul Shaw, who will run a question and answer session, said: "The purpose of the meeting is to tell everyone what we have learned, what we expect to happen and maybe identify anything that it is felt we are not addressing."

Stafford Borough Council's planning committee is due to consider the first part of Severn Trent's plan, to put up a 60-metre wind measuring mast to assess the site's suitability, at its next meeting on Wednesday, November 18. “And, John, spellcheckers are free, so even someone who is as money and status obsessed as you should be able to download one to use.

I think you seen to have a problem with expressing yourself without resorting to name calling, so I assume you are still in full time education. Good luck with that.

“Even after my last prompting, you still are unable to correctly punctuate your writing John. Instead of counting your money, why not go on an adult literacy course. There are many available at reasonable costs at community colleges throughout Stoke on Trent.

    Just an idea for you.

“"Bit rich the coments from that dump called longton as they smack of jealousy."

John, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I notice that you do not say which part of Stoke on Trent (notice correct use of capital letters).

I live quite comfortably and happily in Longton, I am not jealous of anyone who lives anywhere else. However, I do have a problem if all you are interested in is "protecting" the value of your "investment". A house is somewhere to live, not a money excreting machine, that is what got us into the current financial mess we are in.

    Jealousy Schmelousy.”

“Do wind turbines really produce a meaningful amount of electricity,or are they just a tool of the big grasping corporations to access massive government grants and tax breaks?”

“WHat a bunch of numpties these people are. on the one hand they will moan about the ever increasing cost of energy prices and on the other they know that Gas wont last forever.
They dont really give a monkeys about wildlife, like that bunch of idiots at Ashley, it all comes down to property prices and the visual effect.

I for one would not mind a wind turbine in my back yard especially considering the benfits to the greater well being.
All the gases we burn off trying to produce electricity, kills much more of our wildlife than a few wind turbines, Also notice these so called wildlife warriors, dont give two hoots when they are protesting about the traffic in their area and are calling for a bypass.

We need to look more at renewable energy, I bet if they said they could have free lecy for a year they wouldnt say no.

If all you are worried about is the price of your property then you are one very sad individual, its not like they want to build a prison there,
This is for the good of mankind.

Once again its a matter of
    "Not in my back yard"”

“What gets me is when all the natural resorses run out and they have no power who are they going to blame, i bet the answer is`nt them selfs. These do gooders would rather not see us going forward and look to the future , this is why industry is like it is people dont like change well it`s going to if we dont change our ways.”
