Tune In with Liz Rowley
The Story Of The Noughties: 2004 9pm, R1
AT THE halfway point of this interesting 10 part series, Radio 1 presenter Edith Bowman explores the music and pop cultural defining moments of the first decade of the millennium.
Taking a look at how the term "Boutique Festival" became synonymous with a spate of family-friendly festivals, and how the advent of music downloads in the charts changed the face of the industry forever, Edith focuses her attention on 2004 – the year Chris Moyles started his breakfast show on Radio 1 and legendary presenter John Peel died from a heart attack.
Beyond music, contributions come from actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who recollect their first feature-film, Shaun Of The Dead. And satirical rap group Goldie Lookin' Chain recall being at the forefront of chav culture.
