THE University Hospital of North Staffordshire has scooped an award for Organisation Of The Year at a national awards ceremony.

The Trust won a further four awards at the Lean Healthcare Academy Exhibition and Awards in Leeds.

Hospital chief executive Julia Bridgewater said: "I'm delighted that our staff have been given much-deserved recognition for their hard work. This is a testament to what we can achieve working together to improve the service we offer to the people of North Staffordshire."

The hospital's Productive Ward Team won The Productive Series Award and Heidi Poole won Lean Champion of the Year. Vanessa Gardener, chief operating officer, and Dr Gavin Russell, medical director for strategic planning/transformation received special awards for their Outstanding Contribution to Improving Services.
