A MAN broke his arm and collarbone when the motorbike trike he was riding crashed into a tree.

Firefighters had to release the rider who was trapped following the crash in Meaford Road, Stone, at 12.20pm on Saturday.

His female passenger, who has also not been named, suffered bruises to her face and body.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "The man was immobilised with a neck collar, spinal board and leg and arm splint, before being taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire for further assessment and treatment."

The woman passenger was also taken to the university hospital as a precautionary measure.
