Tributes pour in for Tin Can Man
CHARITY champion John Leese MBE, who collected £361,000 in his wife's memory, has died.
The 86-year-old – who was affectionately nicknamed the Tin Can Man – started his 19-year fund-raising campaign for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice to honour his wife Olwen's dying wish.
Mr Leese, from Werrington, passed away at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire on Wednesday after contracting pneumonia.
His brother Clifford Leese has now led tributes to 'one of the kindest people you could ever know'.
