THE family of a teenager who died in a car crash on the A500 have paid tribute to their "much-loved rogue".

Police twice closed a section of the D-road over the weekend so that relatives and friends of Nathan Foreman could lay flowers at the scene of the collision.

The father-of-one, from Fenton, was driving home from a night out in Nantwich just after 3am on Saturday when his red Fiat hit a tree in the central reservation close to the MFI roundabout, in Etruria.

Ten hours later, Staffordshire Police closed the southbound side of the road for 30 minutes so distraught family and friends could lay flowers at the scene.

Officers repeated the temporary closure yesterday afternoon.

And family members today remembered the 19-year-old.

Sister Hayley Edwards, aged 21, from Meir, said: "My brother was such a likeable lad. So many people have said that about him.

"He was a loveable rogue and was well-known and popular in lots of different areas across the city.

"He was the best dad in the world, the best anyone could have asked for and anybody would say that. He also loved his motorbikes.

"My family is in shock, my mum doesn't think it's real. She loved him so much.

"I left flowers at the scene on Saturday. It is a comfort to know so many people loved him."

A passenger in Mr Foreman's car, who was in his 20s, was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with serious chest injuries. His condition was believed to be stable last night.

Uncle-of-three Mr Foreman was born in Bentilee but grew up in Meir and Fenton.

The former Eaton Park Primary pupil had three sisters and one brother.

He moved around different secondary schools, including one in Stafford, before leaving education and starting a family with his girlfriend Jody Copeland.

In February their daughter Whitney Foreman was born and family say Mr Foreman doted over her.

A Facebook tribute page has been started by his friends and dozens of messages have already been posted in tribute, including one from his mum Nicky Edwards-Llewellyn.

She said: "Love you lots you special little sweetheart. Thinking of you and missing you my little soldier boy. Rest in peace."

Mr Foreman died at the scene despite the efforts of a doctor and paramedics.

Both men had to be cut free from the vehicle by fire crews.

Mr Foreman's aunt, Vikki Tilstone, from Fenton, said: "He was so loving and caring to all. He had a great girlfriend, Jody and a gorgeous daughter Whitney. My heart has been broken into pieces."

A post-mortem examination is being carried out and funeral arrangements have yet to be made.

Anyone who witnessed the crash, or the driving of the car prior to it, is asked to call Sergeant Matt Bennion at Hanley Police Station on 0300 123 4455.
