Travel disruption continues across North Staffordshire following heavy rain
TRAVEL disruption has continued across Staffordshire today following a weekend of heavy rain.
Staffordshire County Council reported that the A34 near the Darlaston roundabout, the A518 near Amerton Farm and A51 at Weston were all closed during Sunday.

The Environment Agency has issued a number of flood warnings for the River Tean at Upper Tean, Lower Tean and Checkley, the River Churnet and the River Dove.
Rail travel has also been affected, with disruption reported on services passing through Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and Crewe stations.

Earlier today, 36 sheep were rescued by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service from flooded areas in Stone and Newcastle-under-Lyme.
More rain is forecast tonight.
