“Coates definitely did say so, and Pulis definitely but reluctantly agreed, but you cant force other clubs to buy, we probably didn't have much to sell in the first place unless we sold Crouch, Begovic, Shawcross or Huth and we obviously didn't want to do that, and Coates is a flexible man. He probably saw that other clubs werent staying true to the letter of the Fair Trades, and so relented a little, for which we should be grateful. There's quite a few mysteries of this transfer window, the Popov one has got to be the worst.”

“I could have sworn that Mr Coates had said we have to sell
some of our players before we could buy any new ones.
I must have been mistaken, but surprized that no-one bid
for any of our much sort-after star strikers and midfielders.
We must have one of the biggest squads in the Premier now
and cannot fail to make the top 10, with so many to choose from.”

“I see Goran Popov has gone on loan to the "Baggies"....so, no problem for them to get him a work permit then?”
