THE Marchington Singers are in action at Thomas Alleyne's High School in Uttoxeter tomorrow night with a concert to celebrate their silver jubilee. Well-known pieces by Oscar Hammerstein, Jerome Kern, Benjamin Britten and John Rutter will be on the programme as well as some classic Abba hits. It starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £12, are available on the door or by calling 01889 563570.

The lunchtime concert series continues at St Mary's Church, Nantwich, next Thursday with a concert by young pianists Christine English, Marie McKavanagh and Annabel Neilson. It starts at 12.30pm and admission is free.

Next Saturday, organist Michael Rhodes will be performing a solo recital at the Victoria Hall as part of the venue's current Organ Prom series. For tickets, which cost £4.50, call 0844 871 7649.

On Tuesday, July 14, Charmian Baskeyfield will be providing the entertainment at St Paul's Church in Newcastle with a lunchtime recital of music of oboe and oboe d'amore. It starts at 12.30pm. Admission is free.

At the same venue the following night, organist John Keys will be performing a concert of Handel, Mendelssohn and Wagner at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 and are available at the door.

And on the same night in Basford, the Cropper Welsh Roscoe Trio perform at the New Vic at 7.30pm. Call 01782 717962 for tickets.
