YOUNGSTER William Simpson – who has recently been placed on the heart transplant list – is joining a children's charity to celebrate his third birthday.

William, aged 21 months, from Meir, who has Mitral Valve Stenosis, will be joining the Mad Hatters Tea Party being hosted by Caudwell Children at Trentham Monkey Forest on Friday.

He will be returning to the attraction which hosted a sponsored walk to help send him and his family on Caudwell Children's Destination Dreams to Disneyworld, Orlando.

William and his family, including parents Tracey and Chris, brothers Stephen, aged two, Robert, aged five, and Tom, aged 12, will join other families at the party where they will be entertained by characters from the Lewis Carroll novel including Alice and the White Rabbit.

There will also be face painters, art and crafts, a bouncy castle and story-telling.

Mum Tracey said: "Since the trip we have been involved with Caudwell Children on a regular basis and we are delighted to be going to the Mad Hatters Tea Party to support the charity and celebrate William's birthday.

"The holiday was a real boost for the family and so incredibly special for us all.

"We hope that by attending the Mad Hatters Tea Party we will be able to help raise vital funds and awareness for the charity and the wonderful work they do."
