Timely bid to make station service work
BUSES that arrive at the new station, but have a scheduled departure time of more than 20 minutes, will not be allowed to use up any spaces.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council is planning to use part of Hinde Street car park as a 'bus layover space', to ensure the smooth running of services from the station.

PLAN: An artist's impression of Hanley bus station.
A report states: "Most of the car park is used by council staff working at the Regent Centre.
"There is sufficient spare parking space in the other car parks off Hinde Street and Broad Street to accommodate the displaced cars and the staff at the Regent Centre are due to be relocated to Festival Park in the near future.

"In order to enable this area to be a bus layover, a planning application will need to be made.
"It is proposed to include a small, secure toilet block to provide welfare facilities.
"The entrance from the highway will also need to be widened."
