Tie swap is a charity hit
HI-TIE: Schoolchildren have raised hundreds of pounds for earthquake victims by wearing funky ties.
Pupils at Wolstanton High School organised a Hi-Tie for Haiti event – swapping their ties for something different and making a donation.

They managed to raise a total of £304 for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
Organiser Aeron Brown, aged 15, said: "A group of us were thinking of how we could raise money for Haiti, and I came up with the idea of ties.
"There were lots of interesting ties, including some spinning bow-ties."
Pictured is pupil Ben Brookes, aged 15, showing off some of the wacky ties.
