The new site in Tewkesbury has created four new jobs.

Managing director Mike Ridgway said: "This move not only allows us to spread geographically, it also gives us further manpower to target previously untapped business sectors.

"We are confident that this strategy will push us towards the top three independent communication companies in the UK.

"As other businesses are looking to cut back in challenging economic times, we are showing that investment in people and new market sectors can help a business like ours to flourish."

John Johnston, who is heading the new office, said: "As a team, we bring with us a wealth of experience in the business telecoms sector. We look forward to contributing to the growth of the Qualitel business."

Qualitel started out in 2003 as a business mobile phone dealer. It has since diversified and now focuses on five core products – mobile phones, fixed line phones, tracking devices, applications such as downloads and digital pens and lone worker applications, which are used by employees such as social workers going out alone to contact a 24-hour call centre if they get into trouble.

Sentinel Business reported in February that the firm had expanded its headquarters and created new jobs.

The firm, which now employs more than 30 people, has doubled the size of its Cherry Orchard Mews base and taken on five new recruits.

The expansion included the creation of a new "smart suite" where clients can learn about Qualitel's products.
