ART ATTACK: Young people in Stoke-on-Trent have produced a large graffiti mural in the city centre.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council commissioned youth organisation Unity to design a Staffordshire Hoard-inspired piece of art.

The teenagers spent yesterday and Thursday working with graffiti artist Nick Roach, pictured, on the impressive design next to Panasonic in Piccadilly.

Unity director Matt Wilcox said: "About 10 teenagers have worked really hard on the mural.

"Nick came up with the design and involved the youngsters in its creation.

"Lots of passers-by have commented on it and the city centre community have really embraced it."

Nick said: "We have had a lot of positive feedback. A lot of people said they did not realise traditional art designs can be created with spray paint."
