RETURN RANK TO MOTORISTS: With the recent pledges from the Burslem Regeneration Board to improve the parking problem in Burslem and having council representation on that board, may I make a suggestion that will ease people's fears that this is just more of the same old PR talk.

With immediate effect, return the six parking bays that now form the White Elephant Taxi Rank to street parking for visitors.

This, as we all know, is the "much-needed" rank for Hackney cabs that was used by the fun fair for a week and has had a builder's skip parked there for several months while the new Indian restaurant takes shape and is not used by the taxis.

After returning this area back to public parking, perhaps the council would then repay all the parking tickets issued there to motorists with a profound apology.
