Taste of uni life for pupils
MORE than 60 young people will descend on Keele University tomorrow for a conference about citizenship in action.
The 'rights and responsibilities' theme will include input from Amnesty International, the Co-op, and a wide range of other organisations.
It is aimed at 12 to 14-year-olds from Staffordshire and Cheshire and is part of the Keelelink scheme.
The children's conference will also give pupils an insight into life on a university campus.
Madeley High is one of the schools involved and will be taking 15 pupils along to tomorrow's conference.
Katie Pattinson, the school's Keelelink co-ordinator, said: "We are really trying to raise the profile of citizenship studies with our pupils and experiences like this are just the ticket to do that."
