HOT POTATO: The humble spud is the subject of a talk from an expert.

Ray Bassett, who is a national champion vegetable grower and also a judge for the National Vegetable Society, will be explaining about the different varieties of seed potatoes, when to plant them and how easy they are to grow.

The talk called 'Growing Potatoes for the Kitchen'

takes place tomorrow at Bridgemere Garden World near Nantwich at 11am.

Tickets for the talk, which cost £3 and include coffee and a biscuit, can be purchased from the garden centre or by calling 01270 521 100. Booking is essential.

The talk comes ahead of a week of half term activities at the garden centre.
