TV Tonight: John Woodhouse's Pick Of The rest
Sacred Music BBC4, 7.30pm
SIMON Russell Beale travels through the urban and rural landscapes of France as his journey through the history of Western sacred music continues. Here he explores two of the most personal and individual composers of sacred music, the agnostic Gabriel Fauré and the fashionable Francis Poulenc. Fauré's Requiem is one of the best-loved pieces of sacred music ever written and the composer built his career in some of the most magnificent and fashionable churches in Paris.
