Swimming: Club swimming in medals after members make waves at Macclesfield competition
RECORD times, Midland District qualifying marks and a sea of gold, silver and bronze came tumbling Cheadle Swimming Club's way following a series of scintillating performances at the latest Macclesfield meet.
Twenty-nine swimmers from the Moorlands club gained Midland District times as the Cheadle starlets returned home with 20 medals – including 10 gold.

Natasha Holland and Kay Goulden enjoyed good swims.
Jack Long, aged 17, took gold for his age group in the 100m butterfly and also claimed overall gold.
Long achieved personal bests in 200m and 100m front crawl and now has an incredible 10 Midland District qualifying times. Kay Goulden, aged 10, achieved gold in the 200m butterfly with a new meet record. Goulden claimed personal best times in the majority of her swims and also bagged a silver in the 50m front crawl.
The 10-year-old now boasts an impressive 10 District times.
Nine-year-old Charlotte Rawle celebrated a triple gold haul after touching first in the 50m butterfly, 200m backstroke and 200m individual medleys. And in another boost to her swimming CV, Rawle set two new meet records in the latter two races.
The nine-year-old also won silver in the 50m breaststroke and bronze in the 50m front crawl and has gained eight District qualifying times.
Brittany Allen made the podium in the 200m butterfly after taking silver and claimed bronze in the 50m breaststroke. Allen is also in the multiple District qualifying times club and boasts six to her name.
Not to be outshone, Natasha Holland took gold in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke and silver in the 200m individual medley. Holland currently has four District times and is extremely close to gaining two National times.
James Jackson achieved bronze position in the 50m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke and 200m backstroke and now has four District times.
Joe Procter won gold in the 200m butterfly and 200m backstroke and silver in 50m backstroke. He has a total of three District times. Dylan Tomkinson was also in action and is the proud holder of three District qualifying times.
Zara Bailey achieved a very good personal best in the 200m backstroke and now has two District times. Cheadle ASC members who also produced strong swims were Denver Bridgewood, Nat Partridge, David Hannah, Ben Goulden, Matthew Pugh, Philip Pugh, Izaak Bailey and Emily Grooves who all achieved personal best times in numerous races.
