Swansong for health group
THE LAST-ever annual meeting of Stoke-on-Trent's statutory health watchdog group has been scheduled for next month.
It will be held just days before the Local Involvement Network (LINk) is to be scrapped on April 1 under Government reforms.
Similar bodies throughout Britain will also be replaced by an organisation called Local Healthwatch.
The contract to run it in the city has been won by Voluntary Action Stoke-on-Trent (VAST) and the Hanley-based Saltbox Christian Centre.

The meeting will be held at the North Staffordshire Medical Institute, Hartshill Road, Hartshill, between 6pm and 8pm on March 21.
Officials will also present the group's last annual report, covering surveys and inspections of hospitals, health centres and social care premises.
