Support for mosque protest
MOSQUE: I support Jennifer Holdcroft's protest (The Sentinel, October 20).
A passer-by said she stood out like a sore thumb, but it is the mosque, in Regent Road, Shelton, that stands out like a sore thumb. It looks shockingly and horribly out of place.
What a disgrace Stoke-on-Trent City Council takes off us for parking etc, but gives our land away for a mosque.

“In reply to Fun-do-mentalist, The Koran, like the Bible , has been interpreted by man and that particular interpretation has been preached by a man . Islam, I believe, is no more intolerant than any other belief,it is individual believers who may be intolerant .”

“Thanks Leanne and please don't think I am trying to be insulting - You sound lovely! It would be a shame though wouldn't it if you really deeply loved a muslim man and were prevented from doing just what nature intended, getting married and having children. To me there is no reason why any two people on the planet should not be able to do this. To me my views are the exact opposite of a racist. I don't know how old you are, but do you remember a record by Blue Mink called, 'Melting Pot'. It's a song with a very good sentiment. The problem is I fear that a lot of religious people, and Muslims in particular, would totally disgree with it and that's not a very good way to run this country or the world. Shame.”

“Fundamentalist, thank you for your interest in my life and relationships. As I said, I am a Christian and that is the most important thing to me,so I would not convert to Islam and would not marry a Muslim if that was required. However,if I did,I would not "be in for a shock" because I'm well aware that Muslims do not believe Jesus is the Son of God. This is because they are not Christians. None of that is the point though. I do not believe what they believe, but I don't stand in the way of their practising their own beliefs. In this country I am allowed freedom of religion and I don't begrudge it to others. If we start begrudging it to others,we are no better than the countries that sadly do not allow Christians to practise in their borders.”

“As for a mad psychopath allowing churches to be built, I presume that this was in between him opressing torturing and murdering men women and children. I get the feeling though, in fact I know that it's not quite so good in Iraq for Christians now. Only in July this year five churches were bombed in Baghdad.”

“So madam you would have no problem converting to Islam to marry the Muslim man you fell in love with would you, because that is the only way you would be able to do it. If you did then you would be in for a shock. Muslims do not believe that Jesus was even the son of God at all. One of the reasons I was given by a Muslim, 'scholar' that preaches to tens of thousands of Muslims all over the world was this. Jesus ate food. After he ate food the food went through his digestive system and came out in the normal way that used-up food does. God, or the son of God could not possibly be so if he had to go to the toilet. What do you think about that kind of thinking? In case you missed the point, and most Christians do because of the way their beliefs have been formed culturally, Muslims are honour-bound to believe that the Koran is the final and unalterable word of Allah. That is why culturally it is dangerous. It allows people to be misled by chauvinistic women-hating men. If all muslim women had the same rights, education and natural freedoms that most western women take for granted then Islam would collapse overnight. These mad-mullahs know that without the shameful subjugation of women the game would be up. Anyway I can prove that there can not possibly be only one heaven, there must be at least two.
My mum died and she is there now. I know she won't accept that she is heaven. Why, because her dog Toby is not with her. When her dog dies and goes to heaven she will then think that she is in heaven. However Muslims believe that dogs are impure and unclean so dogs could never be in heaven could they? Therefore there must be a least two heavens mustn't there? Simple!”
