INJURIES: Kevin Brookshaw who suffered terrible injuries after he was hit by a barrier at a petrol station.
The stock replenisher had to undergo a series of operations for facial injuries and lost one eye.
He is now unable to talk and will never be able to eat or swallow again.
Morrisons was fined £172,000 under the Health and Safety at Work Act on Friday during a hearing at Chester Crown Court.
Today, a spokesman for the company told The Sentinel: "Our thoughts remain with Kevin and his family at this time. We have accepted full responsibility and accept the findings of the court."
Mr Brookshaw's wife Paula, of Buerton, near Audlem, declined to comment on the changes at the store.

“I'm not at all surprised by the accident that happened at the Morrisons store in Crewe. I have previously worked for the company and the standards of health and safety towards both staff and customers is appalling. If there is a quick way of doing something that shall be the way it is done regardless as to whether it is safe. Fair enough Morrisons has decided to review its policies to ensure that another similar incident does not occur but that is of little comfort to Mr Brookshore and his family who have suffered this tragic and avoidable accident. Knowing how the company works he was probably called in to face disciplinary action for his time off sick, nothing would surprise me. £172,000 does not seem like alot of money in comparison to the injuries caused by someone who neglected to perform their job properly, perhaps if more time and effort was placed into making sure staff and customers had a safe enviroment to work and shop in accidents like this could be avoided in the future.”
