Supermarket challenge blog: Day five
It was back work in Manchester for me today. My partner Steve drops me at Stoke Station at about 7.50am most mornings, and collects me at about 5.25pm if the train leaves on time.
When Steve picked me up he suggested that we call at PAK Foods in Shelton to stock up on daily consumables like bread milk and fruit juices for the kids. We have used this shop before and find it to be well stocked with a friendly service.

We bought fruit and vegetables, two bottles of Pepsi which was more than comparable to the main supermarkets at 99p per bottle.
The fruit and veg is all loose and they have a good stock and as you would expect they specialise in Asian fruit and veg which makes an interesting change from the norm.
We also bought some packs of spice which is a lot cheaper than any other store and the choice is much more diverse.
We decided to buy some frozen prawns while in there. Steve cooked these with some ginger honey and chillies and we had them in the naan breads which we purchased while in Pak Foods.
All in all, we would recommend this store to anybody who likes to cook fresh not frozen produce, especially anybody who likes to make a curry or similar asian meals. The food is off good quality, and you will get more for your pound in there.
