A HOSPICE worker who took part in a new version of a marathon hopes to have raised more than £200.

Guy Clarke, facilities and voluntary services manager at Douglas Macmillan Hospice, has taken part in numerous events dressed in the charity's iconic sunflower suit.

Last weekend, he ran in the world's first metric marathon, called a Kilomathon, measuring 26.3 kilometres or 16.3 miles, from Nottingham to Derby, in a time of two hours and four minutes.

The 42-year-old, from Westbury Park, said: "I wanted to do it in the suit in under two hours. If it hadn't have been for the wind, I would have done it quite comfortably."

Guy's next challenge is the Potters 'Arf.
