POST Office Vaults enjoyed a red letter day as they thrashed COORS LEAGUE Division Two side Potters Retreat 8-0 in the Direct Sports League Cup second round, thanks to a hat-trick from Ash Thompson.
Chell Heath Knave also went through to the next phase after a 3-2 victory over Red Lion Chest.
Chell were cruising when Lee Tinsley's hat-trick gave them a 3-0 lead, but two goals from Division Two Red Lion made it a nervous finish for the Premier Division strugglers.
There was a 10-goal thriller when Trentham Tavern met Division One counterparts Old Corner Cupboard.
Both sides were deadlocked at 5-5, but Old Corner Cupboard eventually triumphed 3-0 on penalties.
Division One side Gillow Heath survived a scare before winning 3-2 at home to Division Three high-fliers Hazelhurst.
Gillow were trailing 2-0 before Darren Butler's brace helped them turn the game around.
In the other games, Madeley White Star lost 2-0 at home to in-form Division Two side Castle Borough, while Hollybush Vics versus Trentham North End was called off.
There was also action in the J&J Tatters Trophy for Coors League sides. Gardeners Rest won 4-2 at Division Two counterparts Bradwell WMC, while the cricketers of Kidsgrove CRCC are still 'not out' after their 4-2 win at home to Division Four outfit Chesters.
In the other games, Jim Alcock's treble ensured Division Two side Gardeners Retreat beat battling Division Four side Village Town 3-2.
Division Two's Birches Head Hotel lost 2-0 away to Division Four side Harecastle, while the game between Pool Dole and Royal Oak was postponed.
Sunday Trophy action saw Division Four side Loggerheads crash out 5-1 to Bench and Bar from the PDSL League, while Division Four side Vodafone were thrashed 6-1 at Fountain Inn.
