BOYS' Brigade members have helped to generate more than £200 for sick children.

The North Staffs Battalion Boys' Brigade raised funds for charity Caudwell Children by hosting a series of events over the summer.

Activities included collections by 11-to-18 year olds during their week-long summer camp on the Isle of Wight.

All the proceeds will go to the Stoke-based charity, which donates specialist equipment and treatment for sick or disabled children.

And Claire Proctor, community projects co-ordinator at Caudwell Children, said: "The group has done a fantastic job and the donation will make a real difference to a child's life."

The cause is also about to take a number of families on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Florida as part of its Destination Dreams initiative.
