The Sugarmill reaches final of search to find UK's best live music venue
CITY centre nightspot The Sugarmill has made it through to the finals of a national competition to find the country's top live music venue.
The Brunswick Street venue is one of sixty nightspots from across the country to make the short-list of the NME magazine's Britain's Best Small Venue contest.
The nightspot picked up enough votes to join four venues in the Midlands region.
Sugarmill promoter Dan Nixon, aged 29, from Leek, said: "We are over the moon to have made the short-list.
