Sugar Ray Leonard at Potteries boxing event
SUGAR Ray Leonard will be guest-of-honour at a winner-takes-all boxing championship in the Potteries tomorrow night.
Eight fighters will be battling it out for the £3,000 prize in the Midlands Semi-Pro Championship at Fenton Manor.
Tickets priced £25 will be available on the door when they open at 7.30pm.
Sugar Ray, who is now 56 and is handled in this country by Potteries promoter Carl Holness, shot to worldwide fame in the 1980s when he won world titles at five different weights.
His superbouts against Marvin Hagler, Roberto Duran and Thomas Hearns have become legendary in the sport of boxing.
