STUDENTS are hosting a coffee morning in support of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice.

It takes place on Friday at The Ember Lounge, on the College Road campus, between 12pm and 1pm.

Jonathan Pace, Student Union community volunteer co-ordinator, said: "We hope many students will be able to come to the lounge and raise some money for what is a most worthwhile local charity.

"Many of our students know of someone who has had cancer or other life-limiting illnesses, who have received care from the Dougie Mac. It is important that we do not forget the fantastic service the staff at the hospice give to so many local people."

The event is part of a series of coffee mornings taking place.

Anyone who is interested in raising a cup for the Blurton hospice can register their support by emailing fundraising@dmhospice.org.uk or by calling 01782 344304.
