Students gather for Gaza protest
UP to 100 students have staged a protest about the Israeli attacks in Gaza.
The protest last night outside Keele University's Students Union featured speakers including a woman who has experienced conflict in Iraq, representatives from the Socialist Student Society and people from the Stoke Socialist Party.

Matthew Wright, aged 25, of Walton Road, Trent Vale, helped to organise the event.
He said: "It was a relatively small protest but we hope it will snowball from there."
A similar event has now been set up for next Wednesday. It will be held at the same place between 6.30pm and 8pm.

“Actually, I'm pro Israel.. While I don't agree with the severity of this war.. I know if we where being rocketed more or less every day by france.. we would of took action long before Israel did!...because they are so far away.. we seem to think we have a right to have a say in how Isreal handles their own land? Yes we hear about all the unjust killings of the Gaza people.. but where you interested when Jewish woman and children where being killed in their own homes by Palestinians sending rockets over the boarders? No of course you weren't.. where was your protest then?
No one seems to understand what Israel has gone through or understand that Israel has been the land of the jews for close on 5000 years.. long before any agreement by the British.. or invasion by the arabs. so who is occupying the land? Either way there are faults on each side and all Hamas has to do is to stop sending rockets into the homes and schools of children!.
Don't forget it was Palestine that gave up the ceasefire last time.. Israel will stop.. when Palestine does and if that involves killing every member of the terror organisation Hamas... so be it!
I woulds suggest to those who protest... research your topic better... be unbiased.. you will be surprised what you find!”

“actually, I've changed my mind, it is a good thing that students have finally taken action. it's about time. children are slaughtered in Gaza every minute. it is beyond rational what Israelis are doing and more support is needed for these students.”

“Is it not time for Students to be studying with the provisions from my hard earned taxes instead of looking for causes that are none of their business.”
