STOKE City are being linked with a move for FC Dallas left winger Brek Shea.

Reports in the United States say the Potters are in talks over signing the 22-year-old for a fee of around £2.2m.

Shea scored three goals in 21 MLS games last season, and also played six games for the United States. However, he missed the end of the season with a foot injury.

The previous season he scored 11 goals in 30 games and trained with Arsenal at the end of the MLS campaign

Shea, who can also play in midfield or as a striker, trained with Bolton Wanderers as a youth player.

Stoke have already made one successful foray into the United States market having beaten Everton to the signature of Geoff Cameron for £1.6m from Houston last summer.

“If he is bought I know one position Pulis will put him in: the bench. That player has way too much skill to be a Stoke player for his liking.”

“Pottedrengen, done some research on this lad, he started his career as a defender, both left back and central defense, before moving into attack/midfield so you may well be correct”

“Pottendrengen, you may be correct. I have just done a little bit of research on Brek and he started life as a left back before converting to midfield/attack. he is tall as well. Looks like a perfect stoke player then :-)”

“Pottedrengen, that's funny. Just listening to Radio Stoke, some fella came on talking to Matt Sandoz about Shea, says he is tall and lanky, and he and Martin Spinks agreed with a chuckle he is perfect then. But he is a left winger so Pulis is looking for someone to replace the generally ineffective Etherington.”

“Ok we're signing a winger who can also play in midfield or as a striker. Who's on for a bet that he will be our new fullback?”
