Stoke City: Tuncay tantrum was out of order
SO, THAT'S the second home game running we've seen a Stoke player depart the pitch and the stadium before the end of the game.
But while Ryan Shawcross can hold his head high after that tearful red card against Arsenal, Tuncay's head should be on a lower trajectory following Saturday's departure in far more mundane circumstances.
-

TURKISH BATH: Tuncay runs straight to the changing rooms, having been substituted by City boss Tony Pulis at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday. Pictures: Shaun Smith
-

FRUSTRATION: Stoke's Glenn Whelan leaves the pitch at the end of the match.
-

BEHIND YOU: Villa's John Carew finds himself surrounded as City's defensive wall stands firm.
-

KARATE KICK: Villa keeper Brad Friedel uses an unusual method to keep out Ricardo Fuller. Right, Robert Huth and Abdoulaye Faye rue a missed chance late on.
-

What should have been a routine 54th-minute substitution was transformed into an unnecessary show of disapproval – even dissent – as he stomped straight towards the tunnel and pointedly waved away his manager's applause in the process.

“For me TP was vindicated to bring Fuller on, he is in form and made a difference to the team when he came on. He is more than an impact player and Tunchay has a long way to go to reach his heights.
I agree Sidebe was inept and looks to be lacking confidence and should have come off earlier - i would have dropped Tunchay in Sidebe's roll behind Fuller as I think thats where he is at his best (at lwast for 10 minutes). Tunchay's running is superb but he struggles playing Ric's roll.
Just as a side issue, Kitson looks terrible, little skill and clumsy, I compare Doyle at Wolves with him - both from Reading and similar price, looks like TP got the wrong one..!”

“I don't think Tuncay was out of order he worked his socks off as a lone striker !! Sidibe didn't turn up again why TP plays him only he knows maybe a trip to specsavers may help. The fans reaction to boo his decision was because they thought Sidibe was staying on. TP needs to understand the fans frustration when he plays a striker who has a much chance of scoring as Rooney signing for Stoke!”

“maybe the players are tired after a long season...thats why there should have been some signings in january,to bolster the squad, tuncay has a big ego and obviously does not like being subbed this is not the first time its happened this season tp needs to come down hard on him dissent like that should not be tolerated....”

“How anyone cannot see that Tuncay plays for himself not the team is beyond me.As usual the majority of thick Stokies see him score a couple of goals, and think he is our saviour. He runs around like a headless chicken, and only thinks of himself .TP alas is totally inept on tactics side. Why he does not start wth Fuller is baffling.Come on you potters.”

“Whilst i for one totally disagree with Tuncay's actions in dissapearing down the tunnel, i must stress that the majority of the crowd (including me) were booing because they wrongly thought Sidibe was staying on. What i cannot understand is why Sidibe wasnt taken off sooner as he was totaly in effective and posed no threat whatsoever! Tuncay wasnt doing much better but we know he has much more match winning potential and thefore he shouldnt have been the first striker to come off.
