Stoke City: Tuncay looks forward to playing at the Brit as Huth checks in
by Martin Spinks
TURKISH international Tuncay has greeted news of his proposed £5m move to the Potteries by admitting: "I am glad the Stoke supporters will now be on my side."
-

The 27-year-old playmaker was locked in talks at the Britannia Stadium late last night, and was today hoping to join Middlesbrough colleague Robert Huth in moving to the Potteries after he agreed a three-year contract with Stoke.
The popular crowd-pleaser needs no reminding of the Britannia roar after witnessing it first hand only five months ago with Boro.
Speaking ahead of his proposed move, and talking through an interpreter, Tuncay said: "I remember playing at Stoke. The fans put pressure on teams and players that come here, so now I am glad they will be supporting me."

“Paperwork was completed at midday today meaning Tuncay is a Stoke player now and will be in the squad tomorrow. The stumbling block was nothing to do with wages but actually about his work permit - Turkish rules state he had to apply for a new one as he has changed clubs. This has now been done and completed.”

“It's wonderful to be a Stoke fan.
Never thought I would see my team buying players of this stature.
Keep the class coming.
Good Luck and Welcome to Stoke..!”

“Tuncay is everything Stoke need at this moment...a creative, intelligent, puts his foot on the ball, entertains. The naysayers should now shut up and stop criticising as the club has done EVERYTHING right...sometimes they just need a little time to do it! Well done Tony and Peter. In Tony we Trust!”

“Tuncay was training with the rest of the lads Dave, I saw him myself. He is signed, it's just a matter of whether the paperwork was done in time for tomorrows game.”

“Peter (vale fan), there are clubs financially deep in the brown stuff: Pompey, W.Ham, then there's the likes of Man.U, L'pool, Chelsea who either have 100s of millions in debt or will do once there sugar daddies leave. Stoke ain't in that boat. Under PC & TP we're a well run club, not in any way over-exposed to debt - in fact, in profit. As for Vale... just think yourself lucky you're still going & not in admin. ;)”

“Please Note: those who are insisting that Tuncay has signed for us, think again. The player is holding out for better terms, hence an impass. It is now too late to enable him to make his debut tomorrow too!”

“just want to say that i think tuncay is a great signing for us - and so is huth in his own right.
we have shawcross and abdoulaye, but after that the standard drops - with huth we have an experienced defender, not only within club football in the premiership, but internationally. he's big, strong and has a good work ethic, so will fit right in with the DNA of SCFC.
i think it shows that we're moving forward as a club - and hopefully it shows other players who think we're a "one dimensional team" that we're looking to branch out and have other dimensions - don't be scared of us!!
Well done TP - once again, you've silenced any critics with two great signings - long may it contuinue...”

“Peter, you're right we haven't got that much money at all have we? £11m is nothing is it? Talk about clutching at straws and being very, very bitter. We have just signed an established German international and in Tuncay we have aquired a player of true quality who has done it at the very highest level. I think you're making yourself look a bit silly with posts like that.”
