Stoke City: Ryan Shawcross signs new long term-deal with Potters
STOKE skipper Ryan Shawcross is in the process of signing a new five-and-a-half year contract at the club's training ground this afternoon.
Boss Tony Pulis revealed that the England defender had agreed the new deal and has brought his family down to celebrate the moment.

Pulis, who introduced three year-old Freddie Shawcross to the media at this afternoon's press conference, revealed: "It looks as though Ryan has agreed the deal and so that will be done and dusted.
"That's fantastic for us as a football club because he's been a bedrock here.

"With him about to sign his contract, I think it sends out a message that we want to keep our best players."
Shawcross, whose new deal contracts him to the club until the summer of 2018, is expected to line up as usual in the heart of Stoke's defence in Saturday's third round FA Cup tie at Crystal Palace.
But Pulis revealed his team needs freshening up with two or three changes – including Thomas Sorensen in goal perhaps – while Michael Owen is fit to play a part after being completely omitted at Manchester City on New Year's Day.

“To get back to reality I would express surprise that Pulis considers Ryan will become a legend.
He has MANY previous legends to surpass, we all know who they are, only time dims the memory of these guys! When those who remember are gone then perhaps the likes of Ryan will leap into a new legend era?
