Stoke City: Pulis curses Kenwyne's late miss
STOKE boss Tony Pulis was left cursing a stoppage-time miss from Kenwyne Jones as Stoke were denied victory in this afternoon's 0-0 draw with West Brom at the Britannia.
Jones looked certain to settle a contest of few chances when controlling on his chest some eight yards from goal, but his volley was planted straight into Ben Foster's waiting grasp.
"I thought it was a very competitive game with not many chances," said Pulis afterwards, "and at the end Kenwyne had the best chance.
"Unfortunately for us, that's gone straight at Foster. When things are going for you it goes into the corner.

"But a draw gets us off 33 points which has been a millstone round our neck."
Pulis paid tribute to both the effort of his players in a game they deserved to win more than the Baggies - and to the crowd's consistent support throughout the afternoon.
"There's been a lot of moaning and groaning I'm told, but right from the first whistle there was a positive feeling around the ground and that was very good for the players."
Albion boss Steve Clarke added: "It was a game of few chances and probably little entertainment for the people watching. But it's a good point away from home."

“Welder, you're right ....it's very aaaaard ! Pulis cannot see the folly of his failed system - continously playing out of form players - Crouch, Walters, Whelan - players who dont look like scoring - Crouch, Walters and Whelan - players out of position - fullback fiasco - and leaving better options on the bench who have earned the right to start the game - Jones with Jerome - Adam - best player against Wigan at home and has not started since. Now the likes of Adam and Jones are relegated to "rescue games" when all else has failed once more and we now cannot evcen create chances at home - once the fortress that scared the life out of the best - where did that Stoke team disappear to that took down Liverpool on Boxing Day ? We have not played anything like since then....very very strange”

“Mr Pulis, I have huge respect for what you have done for my club Stoke City, you got us promotion from the championship with a mix of long ball and at times brilliant wing play enabling any centre forward worth his salt the opportunities to score. This we continued to do for a couple of seasons, however its been downhill since. Now, this is the important thing we need to know, if, and it appears both you and Mr Coates seem to be saying the same thing, we are measuring success in results then you will without doubt see the number of fans attending decline. There seems to be many many people who are only to happy to comment on Stoke, how well we are doing etc etc, but most of these comments come from people who don't pay their money to watch it, indeed I think its fair to say that if i didn't go to the games I too would think we are doing OK. The reality is, I like many others am a season ticket holder along with 8 family members and I have never known us to miss games but its now so depressing. I agree that we now have a better squad than in the past 10 years, but hand on Heart can anyone say we are playing better football!and most of the new squad sit on the bench!! Mr Coates has supported the manager with a very healthy transfer kitty and I think its fair to say that a lot of money has been wasted but even the great Sir Alex can't get it right all the time, however it is unbelievable when you consider we have needed a left back for at least 4 seasons, yet we continue to 'play square pegs in round holes' a recent quote from Mr Pulis himself after the Swansea game. I am now starting to lose my respect for Mr Pulis, he promised us change and we have not seen it. Yes, players have been brought in that could change the style of play but most sit on the bench. I don't understand nor think its right to curse Kenwyne, Jon Walters has played 81 games, missed chance after chance, penalty after penalty yet gets his managers full support, oh but he works hard! sick of hearing this one, plenty of people work hard but lets be honest, no disrespect to Jon but like a few others in Mr Pulis starting 11 hes not premier league class is he! I don't want to see Mr Pulis sacked, I genuinely like the guy,he's dedicated to his job and gives his all, let him take his reward for a job well done and move him upstairs. This is no sign of failure, there are many many managers who can do a great job at the lower levels, they can get promotions etc but managing a team to compete and ENTERTAIN in the best league in the world is not easy.”

“Pulis curses late Kenwyne miss. Jones takes the blame for what was a boring game with little or no chances.
Plays big front men, one winger who is definitely not fit....
Six points to go, will we get them, it's looking doubtful.
Go Pulis go...”

“STOKE boss Tony Pulis was left cursing a stoppage-time miss from Kenwyne Jones well if you play the long ball game week in week out its not down to Kenwyne to pull out the stops in ex time you need to sit back and re think the rest of this season games Mr Pulis before stoke go in to free fall”

“Hold on crossway, you had the one chance and thats enough to satisfy the manager. It doesn't matter about the watching public, does it?”

“absolute garbage again! its not that stoke fans dislike Pulis its the style of his teams football that annoys. We must make certainly make one change at the club at the end of this season and thats the managers position. if there is still those out there who believe differently then the record of 8 wins in 41 games ( since march 10th 2012 ) less than a 25% win rate should be enough to see him out.”
