Stoke City: Pulis criticises Blackburn decision
by Martin Spinks
TONY Pulis has criticised Blackburn Rovers for lacking the bottle to stick with Paul Ince longer than 17 Premier League games before firing him.
And the Potters boss has also taken a swipe at Lancashire Police ahead of tomorrow's clash at Ewood Park after they controversially put the brakes on Stoke's attempts to ferry 7,000 fans to Blackburn in a convoy of free coaches.
Stoke head into the unknown after Rovers dismissed Ince and replaced him with Sam Allardyce yesterday.
It will be the big man's first managerial assignment since facing Stoke in a third-round FA Cup stalemate at the Britannia Stadium when he was Newcastle United boss last January.
"A famous manager once told me you needed three years in management," said Pulis. "One year to assess things, the second to change it and the third to see the progress."

“I have known for a very long time that the players were unhappy with Ince and that went further than just the players at Blackburn. A happy player is a good player and you cannot tat top class players the way he was, how can he leave McCarthy out? It showed when he came on sub at Manchester and sored two, he did that more to remind Ince that he was wrong rather than showing him he was fighting for his place. With the three players such as Roque, Benni and Pederson Rovers will now show just what they are capable of and Allardyce is not silly enough to leave such talent on the touchline, Stoke could not have come across this time at a more difficult time. I am not an Allardyce fan, but he will put something into this team that was over Ince's head, togetherness, team spirit and passion, Ince should know about those three things, they won Manchester United plenty of trophies - Alan Hudson”

“If a manager is not cutting the mustard I am afraid he has to go. How long do you hold on to a manager for? Until the club is so thick in the mire they are doomed to relegation or bankruptsy? As I remember it Allardice got sacked after the Stoke game with Newcastle and is back for the Blackburn game against Stoke. Funny merry go round football management is isnt it?”

“It's about time someone defended Ince, what balckburn have done makes no sense.
As for the police, well, St i completely agree.”

“There still will be many more than 4700 Stoke fans there. Because of the lunacy of the police's decision, they will be all over the ground rather than in one contained away end. Madness eh?”
