STOKE City manager Tony Pulis was chasing an experienced centre-half and midfielder on a dramatic day of transfer activity ahead of today's deadline.

Pulis is desperately trying to bolster his line-up on the final day of business before the transfer window closes until the summer.

Stoke had until 5pm to play their final hand in the transfer market, and Pulis vowed: "We are desperately trying to bring a couple of players in if we can."

“Steve, Frank and David - are you mad, Fuller is quality, he plays furthest man forward and holds the ball well for others to join in, runs at defenders and turns them which is exactly what Camara can do too, when Fuller went off the ball came back very quickly at our defence.
As I see it, Tony now has Beatie or Mama or Kitson (while mama out) and then either Fuller or Camara furthest forward.
Lets hope we keep them all until end of season and then keep four for next season going onwards.”

“Yada Yada Yada Yada. As if we need another striker. Priorities are wrong. Midfield is where we need strenthening and possibly a full back.”

“To be fair - Man City's best player - Kompany didnt give him a kick. Sometimes you do have to give the opposition credit. He went off because he was alledgedly bleeding heavily from a gash on his arm.. thats why he had to change his shirt.”

“Totally agree Frank, Fullers body language and attitude was all wrong. His head quite clearly wasnt there. Hes a player that can change games, but if his is mind isnt 100% hes a frustration to watch. I cant believe I'm saying it but I sometimes think were better off without him, depending on his mood.”

“Am I on my own---but what is Fullers problem!! For the second home game he loses a shoe at a vital moment---having tried them pre match. He then goes off to change them altogether. He then changes his strip. At one moment Stoke were in full attack but he was still on his backside appealing to the REf. about a previous incident. His body language was all wrong and in the BBC highlights the only shot of him was shaking hands pre-match.His contribution was nil ,hence the 5 score in the Sunday papers. He is not has good as he thinks he is or does he realise we now have a better striker??”

“Any chance we can ship Griffin out, we looked in little trouble until he came on and let Richards get goal side of him, then give a penalty away. Anyone agree that Danny Pugh was man of the match, great squad player. We'll miss Rory, but surely Liam or Tonge must be raring to go....not Cressy...please....”
