STOKE City defender Ryan Shawcross looked so composed in the victory over Manchester City, it was easy to forget he is the youngest player in the Potters's line-up.

The 21-year-old registered his 53rd-league start of his career – his 14th in the Premier League – but performed like a player who had graced the top flight for a number of years.

However, the former Manchester United youth player was more interested in talking about the team effort, and the fact he is reaping the rewards of playing alongside Abdoulaye Faye at the heart of the Stoke defence.
