Stoke City: Owen 12th richest player in the world
Stoke striker Michael Owen is apparently the 12th richest footballer in the world.
A new study claims Owen, who is set to leave Stoke after one season this summer, is worth a cool £40.5m.
David Beckham, now at Paris St Germain, tops the Goal.com list with an estimated wealth of £175m.

Wayne Rooney is the highest placed Premier League player in seventh place on £50m and his Manchester United team-mate RIo Ferdinand is only £8m behind in 10th.
Owen's fortune has come largely from his footballing career with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle and Manchester United before moving to Stoke on what is a relatively modest basic wage of less than £20,000-a-week before appearances and goals.
But his horse racing interests and growing media portfolio have also made a healthy little contribution.
