Stoke City: Lawrence ready to be unleashed
by Michael Baggaley
LIAM Lawrence is hoping Stoke boss Tony Pulis will let him off the leash at Hartlepool on Saturday as City search for firepower in the absence of bad boy Ricardo Fuller.

Goal-scoring midfielder Lawrence is itching to return after an ankle injury which has sidelined him since the end of August.
Lawrence has been on the bench for Stoke's last two games and could get a run out at Hartlepool as Pulis weighs up his attacking options.
Fuller's three-game ban for striking Andy Griffin means Vincent Pericard is set to be Stoke's only available striker for the FA Cup third-round tie. Richard Cresswell is also suspended after picking up five bookings, while Mama Sidibe and Dave Kitson have knee injuries.

“Don't get too comfortable Ged! You're back on here for three reasons:
1. For our amusement?
2. Cos there's little news at this time of year.
3. Cos it's the season of goodwill!
It's not for your editorial nous or your topical comment that's for sure! New year, same old negativity!”

“It is me Frank from South Cheshire the one and only. I was kicked off the site for speaking the truth but they have let me back on now. I will continue with my honest opinion of Stoke and at the moment I am extremely concerned with how things are panning out . Sonko, Cresswell, Pericant, Griffin should be the first lot out the door and for crying out loud get some wide men in instead of this boring predictable hoof the ball up field and hope and oh the long throw in as well which by the way is the only reason Delap is playing as he is not premiership quality.”

“It is clear out time---too many overpaid--under achievers for my liking.Clear out the dead wood ,cut the wage bill and get in the position that we can pay whatever is needed to get some quality in.Mediochrity is killing this club.”

“Nice to see you are back Ged---it is the real origenal Ged I hope----and for once I absolutely agree with you.
With all the defenders and mid fielders we have signed I cannot for the life of me see why anyone should be played out of position. The reports are that there are more to come-----help!!!
We need a pacy left winger and a striker to finish them off.I do not believe that Fuller should be our first choice,he will never be prolific but he will always be tempremental.Quite a good man to have on the bench with the occasional ability to change a game----especially if he is hungry for it.”

“Me and my Uncle Bill have been talking. We feel a bit of youth might help up front - perhaps a small Jamaican winger as well. Our problem is we don't think TP and his team will agree so my Uncle Bill has agreed to get back into training for a return - he last played on Wolstanton Marshes some 20 years ago!!”
