Stoke City: Glenn Whelan and Marc Wilson named in Republic of Ireland team
STOKE City duo Glenn Whelan and Marc Wilson have been named in the Republic of Ireland team for tomorrow's World Cup qualifier against Sweden.
Wilson, who has recently returned to the Stoke City line-up after recovering from a broken leg, will start at left-back, with Whelan partnering Leeds United's Paul Green in central midfield at Stockholm's Friends Arena (7.45pm).
Stoke striker Jon Walters missed out to West Brom's Shane Long in the battle to join Robbie Keane up front.
