Stoke City: Frustrated Thomas Sorensen ready to call time on Potters career
THOMAS Sorensen says he will look for a new club at the end of the season if he can't win his Stoke place back from Asmir Begovic.
The Dane is under contract until the summer of 2014, but doesn't want to stay on as a reserve.

The 36-year-old has made just one appearance this season, in the 4-3 home defeat to Swindon in the Capital One Cup.
In an interview in the Danish media, he said: "It is clear that it is frustrating, but I still need to arm myself with patience and see what happens.

"You have to see what is the potential (to leave) either in January or the summer. I see summer as the best option if something must be done."
Asmir Begovic's solid form means Sorensen may have to wait until the FA Cup third round in January to make his next appearance in the first team.
He added: "It is not something I'm happy with. Some would say 'okay', I'll take the last year here on the bench', but I want to play and the ambition has not changed.
"If I cannot find it in Stoke in the long term, then I look around for something else.
"But we're not even half-way through the season, so it is a little early to start talking about these things on a serious level."

“Maybe the ideal balance is for a team to have one very good keeper
and one or two young up and coming keepers in reserve, able to be
stand in when required.
Having two International keepers in a team is bound to cause a
problem for one or the other.
Imagine how Begovitch would
feel now if Sorenson was always first choice.”

“If Stoke are to look for a new keeper they could do a hlluva loy worse than snatching Forster, the Celtic keeper.”

“Will Stoke rely on Nash then or will we bring in a new keeper? Somehow I expect the latter. What I dont expect is for Stoke to rely on a youth prospect, sadly.”

“He'll definetely get one in January in thecup, and if Stoke's is to hinge on a decent cup run, then good games there could see him back inthe team.”

“I was very surprised when he didn't move on before the beginning of this season. It was very obvious Begovic was Pulis' first choice and as Pulis hates to switch players out, he should have known he would get very little playing time. He has a lot to offer and is still a good goalie but can't see him being anything but a back up in the Prem. He could be a good goalie for one of the better teams in the Championship however.”

“He might get some games around Christmas. Always a possibility Bego could be sidelined as well, not something we want, but it would lead to opportunities for him! Patience is the key for Tommo between now and May.”

“You'll take a big part of what Stoke is today with you if and when you go, Thomas.”
