STOKE striker Ricardo Fuller has apologised to supporters and left his future in the club's hands following his red card for slapping team-mate Andy Griffin.

Fuller reported back for training with the rest of the squad today and reflected on his dismissal in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at West Ham.

He told Sky Sports: "I feel bad really, especially knowing that I cost my team some points. But that's how it goes.

"That's football. Sometimes you want to do so well and things happen."

“Football is a team this was an assault on a fellow team player which lead stoke to loosing at least one point. Similar indiscipline probably lead to a loss of a point against Man Utd. SCFC have to ensure this indiscipline stops - now! The best way to do this is to sack Fuller immediately. He should not play for the club again. His is willing to mouth off at every referee he meets, complains endlessly and now assaults his captain on the field. How can the club openly suopport him for his antics. The fans deserve action from SCFC. They are the ones paying the money and hoping stoke stay in the premier league. Fuller is damaging our reputattion. What referee in the country is going to look at him favourably from now on ? He needs to go for the sake of the team, the clu, and the fans.”

“Fuller is looking for a way out. Its obvious, he swans round like he is world class. I'm afraid people need to wake up and smell the coffee, he thinks he is big time, unfortunatley he isn't, how many times this season has he been booked for back chatting ref's? Thats not passion, or giving 'too much for the club', thats just daft, I wouldn't mind if he was getting booked for chasing back and tackling, that would be giving 'too much'.”

“Some Appology. "I FEEL BAD, BUT THAT'S HOW IT GOES",
Well Ric it wasn;t ok for us standing on the terrace at Upton Park with all the home fans laughing at us because of your spoilt little brat antics. If you had a fraction of the passion the stokies have got we would not be in the relegation zone.Perhaps a bit more effort and more goals might help,Rather than throwing your toys out of the pram.Prove people wrong Ric by scoring goals week in week out.TP,Get some quality alongside Fuller or we are down,Certainty.”

“Ric has done the right thing, now lets all forget about it. Ric deserve another chance because he has worked so hard for this club, Yes he is well played but there are players who are playing in this league on a lot more money than fuller but are not fit to lace his boots! So all those people who have said he should be sold so talking twaddle and get behind Fuller and the rest of the team!!!!”

“I too accept your aplolgy Ric. This guy has so much on his shoulders it ever likely he explodes at times. We need at least 1 good striker although I feel once mamma is back the goals will flow. Ric truely misses Mamma as he takes a massive work load off him. Come on Stoke lets go into the new year with all guns blazing, please TP dont let Ric go, he doesnt deserve that.”

“Ricardo's done a great job of apologizing, he put his words like he actually meant them he is very passionate about Stoke City, he gives his best no doubt about that, what he did that day was wrong but we can't just blame Ricardo because Andy played a part in it too as he disrespected Ricardo when he was right to say to him clear the ball and he just attitude towards him. Andy played poor that day so Ricardo ha a point so Andy shouldnt have really mouthed off and Ricardo shouldnt have slapped him but sometimes these things happen in football and we've got to show support to both these players now and make them forget this ever happened, some might not like what Ricardo did put he's a passionate player so its understandable in some ways he's the best Stoke have got and he's full of heart and the backbone of City's recent success lets not forget that. We should start the new year on a good note, put this behind us now and drive our club to success and make Stoke the team again a few more strikers upfront alongside Ricardo with his pace would be a threat to every club so lets get that.”

“I agree with these comments. Get a decent striker in alongside Fuller and take a bit of pressure off him. At the end of the day the only way we have looked like scoring other than from a long throw has been Fuller. I accept your apology Ric, go get some goals.”

“I know Stoke fans have been split on this one but everyone now needs to move on. If we keep bringing this up and dwelling on what happened it will drag the club backwards. Every other team fighting relegation will be hoping we do just that. Fuller has done the right thing and apologised, Coates has shown the support I would have hoped for. Harry Rednapp got it spot on when he said he would rather his plays fight then just shrug shoulders when something goes wrong. Fuller and Griffin care about Stoke City and we should all now show our support by getting behind the whole team. Fuller is a key player for us and done some wonderful things this year. Long may it continue.”
