BETWEEN THE STICKS

BRIAN JENSEN

The Danish keeper is the size of a small principality and reigns supreme between the sticks at Turf Moor.

A hero of Burnley's promotion season, the 34-year-old has been with the Clarets since 2003.

Nicknamed 'The Beast' because he's so big, the 6ft 5in stopper is kept out of the Denmark side by Thomas Sorensen.

AT THE BACK

TYRONE MEARS

The right-back is trying to avoid a second relegation from the Premier League in three seasons, having been part of the shambles which was Derby County's 2007/2008 campaign.

The 27-year-old cost Burnley £500,000 last summer and has also played for Manchester City, Preston and West Ham.

LEON CORT

The 30-year-old central defender will forever be fondly remembered at Stoke, having been a regular in the side which took the club back into the top flight for the first time in 23 years. He joined the Clarets from Stoke for £1.5m in January.

CLARKE CARLISLE

The 30-year-old central defender became the first Premier League player to appear on Countdown last month when he beat the reigning champion on his debut.

DANIEL FOX

The 23-year-old left-back joined the Clarets from Celtic in January. He marked his Burnley debut with a spectacular free-kick against West Ham.

IN THE MIDDLE

GRAHAM ALEXANDER

In football years, the Scotland international, aged 38, is a senior citizen. However, the former Preston defender is showing the youngsters how to do it in his role as a holding midfielder in front of the back four.

DAVID NUGENT

The 24-year-old Scouser has spent the season on loan from Portsmouth.

A striker by trade, but the former Preston hot-shot has been operating on the wide right of midfield in Burnley's 4-1-4-1 system.

WADE ELLIOTT

The 31-year-old has started an impressive 194 games since joining Burnley from Bournemouth in the summer of 2005.

He has played most of his career on the wing, but has successfully converted to central midfield.

KEVIN McDONALD

The 22-year-old Scottish midfielder was signed from Dundee by Owen Coyle for £50,000 in the summer of 2008.

The former Scotland Under-21 international turned down Celtic and Liverpool because he felt he would get more chances at Turf Moor.

ROBBIE BLAKE

The evergreen attacker has been used on the left wing with great success by the Clarets over the last two seasons.

The skilful 33-year-old scored the goal which beat Manchester United 1-0 in Burnley's first home game of the season.

UP FRONT

STEVEN FLETCHER, pictured right

The 22-year-old has weighed in with 11 goals in all competitions since signing from Hibernian for £3m in the summer.

However, he broke his hand on international duty with Scotland last week, but is likely to play.

ON THE BENCH

CHRIS EAGLES

The 24-year-old signed from Manchester United for more than £1m in the summer of 2008. The right-winger was a vital part of Burnley's promotion season last year, but has been in and out this time around.

MARTIN PATERSON

The former Stoke striker, from Tunstall, is fit again after missing three months with a knee injury. The 22-year-old Northern Ireland international is used up front and in left midfield by the Clarets.

JACK CORK

The 20-year-old midfielder joined Burnley in January on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season. The former England Under-21 international is the son of former Wimbledon striker Alan Cork.

ANDRE BIKEY

The Cameroon international joined in the summer from Reading, where he was a team-mate of Stoke's Dave Kitson.

The 25-year-old can play in central defence or as a holding midfielder.

STEVEN THOMPSON

The 31-year-old former Glasgow Rangers striker joined Burnley on a free from Cardiff in August 2008.

He has yet to start a Premier League game for the Clarets, but has come on as a substitute 13 times in the league this season.

NICKY WEAVER

The 31-year-old goalkeeper signed in January on a deal until the end of the season. He is most closely associated with Manchester City, having spent ten years there until 2007.

He was Manchester City's spot-kick hero when they beat Tony Pulis's Gillingham on penalties in the 1999 League One play-off final.

STEPHEN JORDAN

Another former Manchester City player. The 28-year-old can play at left-back or in central defence, but has been unable to dislodge Daniel Fox from the side.
